@CafeCoffeeDay Car Rally puts sleepy Chikkamagaluru on the intl. motor sporting map

Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) India Rally has taken a big leap forward this year by being a round of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship which will be run in the coffee producing town of Chikkamagaluru (250km off Bangalore city) from December 3rd  to 5th.It will also be part of fourth round of the FMSCI Indian Rally Championship (IRC).


Farooq Ahmed, Chairman, FMSCI Rally Commission, and Vice-President of Chikmagalur Motor Sports Club, said: “The Coffee Day rallies are one of the most awaited motor racing sport in the country. We are really excited to take our international association to the next level and look forward to an enthralling session this year.”

CCD Car Rally is likely to set a new benchmark in Indian motorsport racing community.Organized by the Motorsports Club of Chikmagalur, the three-day extravaganza, which has attracted a record 50 entries, the most this season, will witness concurrent running of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (4-wheel drive and 2-wheel drive) and the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship, a heady combination that will dish out exciting fare to satiate the multitude of fans expected to throng the coffee town over the weekend. Chikkamagaluru’s rustic charm and scenic setting have not only made the Coffee Town into a popular holiday destination, but also attract the cream of country’s Rally talent every year.
